Downtown Tigard Bicycle Rack Celebration
On Saturday, July 10th, 2010 the WTA celebrated the installation of 25 new bike racks in Downtown Tigard. Joined by Mayor Craig Dirksen of Tigard, and Washington County Commissioner Dick Schouten the group gathered at Tigardville Station for a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a bike rack tour by bike.
We hope you explore Downtown Tigard this summer by bike and if you happen to use a WTA bicycle rack, please take a survey.

To learn more about the project, please read more.
Why are we offering these bicycle racks?
The WTA is committed to:
- Reduce drive-alone trips
- Recognize that Tigard is a bike friendly community
- Increase awareness and raise acceptability of bicycle commuting
- Support local retailers in Tigard
- Offer even more support to your employees who choose to cycle to work
- Promote healthy, active lifestyle choices for transportation
How we are measuring the success of the bicycle racks?
We have provided a in short survey for the bicycle rack users that is located in the retailer's storefront. The retailers will simply collect the survey cards which will be picked up or sent into the WTA at a date to be determined.
What do the bicycle racks look like?
