Awards for Businesses
Highest employee participation rate wins!
This year we'll be tracking Company Team progress in our weekly emails and you want to look good, right? Companies of like size compete to see whose employee participation rate is highest. For businesses with multiple locations, each branch competes as its own team. Team awards are based on size. The chance of winning increases with the number of participants registered under the company name. The award itself is a handsome clock from our friends at Resource Revival.

- Small - 15-99 employees

Category Drawings and Contests for Commuters
Everyone can win something! Just by entering and logging at least 6 trips, you're eligible for a prize. The CCC distributes prizes in several ways. You can win more than once; you can be a newbie who happens to ride her bike to work in a skirt 20 times and submits a prize-winning essay, and maybe a piture..... Oh, and have your checked out our Facebook page. We wanna be your friend!
Category Drawings - part 1
At the end of the Challenge, we use the Trip Diary data to put commuters into one or more categories and then pull random names from those categories. You just keep your diary up to date and we’ll do the rest.
Early Birds
We draw from the list of those who registered by June 18th.
Half Dozen
We draw from the list of those who logged 6-12 trips
Bakers Dozen
We draw from the list of those who logged 13-19 trips
Double Dozen
We draw from the list of those who logged 20-24 trips
Tell a Friend
We draw from the list of those who spread the word by clicking "Tell a Friend” at the bottom left corner of your Challenge Update email.
Transportation Coordinators
We draw from the list of all registered TCs - this one’s for you!!! Have you filled out the TC Registration form and sent it back to us?
And plus, we draw from the BIG LIST of ALL REGISTERED COMMUTERS.
Category Drawings - part 2
The Trip Diary doesn't track these categories; you have to let us know via email if you want to toss your hat in the ring for these.
Newbies
Drawn from the list of commuters who let us know that they haven't regularly used sustainable transportation in the past year. Log at least 6 trips to qualify! Let us know you are a Newbie! This is an awesome chance to write a story as well: what made you try? what mode did you take? how was it?
WES
Drawn from the list of everyone who is new to travel options and who let us know that WES is one of the options. If even One of your minimum 6 logged trips is on WES, you qualify! Let us know you are a WES rider! And for this you're entered in to win the TriMet prize for an annual pass. How cool is that?
Team Pictures
Send us a group shot with some, or all, of your Challenge co-workers arriving at work. Please include their names (don't worry, not for incimination purposes)! It's for yet another prize! Let us know by July 31st.
Contests
We have three contests for those who want to flex their creative muscles to inspire others!
Bike Couture
Send us your photo(s) of people biking or walking in work clothes like skirts, dresses, ties or suits. Previous winners may inspire you! Email your photos to Lynne by Monday, August 1st.
In Your Own Words
In 200 words or less, tell us an inspiring story about your experience commuting sustainably. Previous winners may inspire you! Or maybe an essay from one of your staff! Email your essay to Lynne by Wednesday, July 14th, 5pm
In Your Own Words
Same as above, only due at the end of the month. Email your essay to Lynne by Monday, August 1st.
Bikeshare
Bike N Hike and the Bike Gallery have generously given us 2 bikes to give away! On our Prizes page, follow the links for those two sponsors to see what bikes they've generously contributed. We will give those bikes to the two best half-page proposals for a workplace Bikeshare Program. Your proposal should address the following:
- Security - Is there a secure covered place to lock the bicycle? Where?
- Maintenance - Is there an experienced person (or persons) who agree to maintain the bike and keep it in good repair? Who?
- Trip-reduction - Will the bike reduce or replace current work-day car trips? Examples?
- Accessibility - Will the bike be easily accessible to all employees?
- Education - How will you get the word out to your co-workers that they can and should use the bicycle whenever possible instead of driving?
As always, personality and creativity stand out when reading these, so give us your best shot! Winners will be announced at the Awards Parties in August. Email your applications to Lynne by Monday, August 1st.
