Employer Programs

Transit is cheaper than driving to work. The options below let you save even more.

TriMet offers several programs that allow employers greater access to transit passes.

Pre-Tax payroll deduction

By coordinating with an employers payroll or benefits provider, employers can offer TriMet passes pre-taxed. Each month, a fixed amount is deducted from an employee’s paycheck pre-tax to be used on transit. Since pre-tax reductions reduce the amount of an employee’s taxable earning, they also reduce the amount of FICA and unemployment taxes employers pay.

TriMet Tax Savings

Universal Program

The Universal Pass program (http://www.trimet.org/employers/universal-pass-program.htm) allows employers to purchase annual transit passes for all eligible employees at a discounted rate. The cost of each pass is based on the number of employees currently using TriMet to commute to work.

Contact Don Rhodes (rhodesdo@trimet.org) at TriMet for more information.
