WTA had a full and meaningful year, strengthened by a community that continues to champion transportation options in Washington County. We connected with members and partners through events, committee work, and regional and community gatherings, all of which helped advance our shared goals. Here's a look back on some of the highlights from 2025.
Member Engagement and Community Events
WTA was busy this year connecting with members, partners, and the greater community to promote transportation options throughout Washington County. Our work ranged from bike events and transit outreach to sustainability fairs, commute clinics, and neighborhood celebrations. WTA member names are bolded.
Active Transportation and Biking Events

Bike-to-work days for Washington County and LAIKA
Hillsboro's Bike to the Park event, Policy Makers Ride, and the Walk and Roll with Public Works event celebrating the new multi-use path on Shute Road
We provided a bike valet service at the Beaverton Night Market and attended community-focused biking events such as Safe Routes To School Bike Rodeos and Westside Bike Happy Hours at BG's Food Cartel

Earth Day and sustainability fairs with Portland Community College, Genentech, and Intel
Community Partners Affordable Housing (CPAH) Community Cleanup Days
Green Business Leaders Earth Day event
Employee Benefits and Resource Fairs

June Transit Month
WTA partnered with TriMet for the 2nd annual Ride Transit Month
Hosted events at Intel and Nike campuses
Resulted in 2,200 alternative trips taken and $4,300 in savings!
Tour of TriMet's Merlo Garage for top performers

Commute Clinics and Trainings
Hosted a virtual multimodal winter commute clinic with The Street Trust.
Collaborated with The Street Trust on a Winter Commute Clinic at Genentech
Oregon Friendly Driver Training for City of Tigard employees and Ride Connection volunteers

Get There Bike Month Challenge
Resulted in 3,700 bike and e-bike trips and 5 tons of CO2 emissions reduced!
Nike's Bagels & Biketown and Bike Month Celebration
Nike wins WTA League Championship!

Partnered with America Walks for the Week Without Driving
Received a mayoral proclamation from the City of Tigard
Get There Challenge October 1 - 14
Resulted in 2K alternative trips taken and 6.7 tons of CO2 emissions reduced!
WTA and Get There Oregon launched the Get Home Program, a guaranteed ride home program

Jordan became a League Cycling Instructor from the The League of American Bicyclists
Michelle received a Social Marketing in Transportation certificate from the University of South Florida
WTA welcomed two new board members, Jess Dalesky from Lam Research and Shresha Karmacharya from Genentech
