Riders of on Line 52-Farmington/185th will see less service in the evenings starting Sunday, Nov. 30.
Starting Sunday, Nov. 30, buses on Line 52-Farmington/185th will arrive hourly after 9 p.m. on all days. So will three more bus lines elsewhere in TriMet’s service area:
Line 35-Macadam/Greeley (all days)
Line 77-Broadway/Halsey (weekdays)
Line 81-Kane/257th (weekdays)
FX2-Division, TriMet’s Frequent Express line between Gresham and Downtown Portland, will run less often after 7 p.m. on all days.
This round of service cuts won’t affect how late buses run. Buses will run at this reduced frequency through their last scheduled trip of the night. Bus schedules will also change by up to 10 minutes on multiple lines. Plan your trip at TriMet.org. Be sure to select a travel date on or after Nov. 30.
This is the first round in what will be a multiyear process for TriMet of cutting service to address a projected budget gap. TriMet is reducing its spending on service and other areas to bring expenses in line with its revenues. The transit agency’s operating costs have risen dramatically since before the COVID-19 pandemic, but it has been collecting less rider revenue over the same time.
Additional cuts are planned in 2026 and 2027. The next round of service cuts is expected to take place in March. Learn more at trimet.org/servicecuts.
