Unite Oregon, in collaboration with Metro, Washington County, the City of Cornelius, and the City of Beaverton, is seeking Washington County residents to serve as Community Ambassadors in cohorts for the TV Highway Project, Cornelius Town Center Plan, and the Lombard West Development Project.
Read the full program description, qualifications, and responsibility here. This May, participate in our Active Transportation Challenge! This is a friendly competition for people that live or work in Washington County and employees of WTA member organizations. Walk, bicycle, scooter, and skateboard trips all count! Walk or roll to work, to the store, or for fun and log your trips on GetThereOregon.org during the month of May.
On April 8, we hosted a virtual workshop where we discussed the challenge, this year's prizes, and the coveted WTA League trophy! Watch the recording here. If you have an account on GetThereOregon.org and a home or work address in Washington County, or are part of a WTA member organization network, you are automatically entered into the Challenge. If you don’t have an account yet, create one for free to join. Join or form a team with your coworkers or friends! Joining a team is optional, but the Challenge is a great way to reconnect with coworkers that are working remotely or that you don’t see as often because of hybrid schedules. It takes four people to make an official team. Teams from WTA member organizations compete for the WTA League Championship Trophy. Learn more about the Challenge and prizes here, and see leaderboards and join/form a team here! Take advantage of the sun and join Ride Westside for their upcoming group bike rides:

The City is updating its Transportation System Plan (TSP), Beaverton’s 20-year plan for transportation investments. The Community Advisory Committee will provide advice and input into the plan. Your Input Can Make a Difference: Help Shape Transportation Safety in Oregon
The Transportation Safety Office at Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is working hard to keep everyone safe when they're on the road. But they need your thoughts to do it right. Your Voice Matters! By taking just a few minutes of your time to take part in ODOT's survey, you can share your insights and contribute directly to improving safety measures in your community and beyond. Your feedback will inform their efforts and make a real impact on the lives of all road users. ODOT is also taking ideas and feedback via email at TransportationSafetyInput@odot.oregon.gov. Join WTA and a community of advocates, organizers, professionals, and decision-makers at OATS 2024 – Move Oregon Forward – June 5-7 in Portland. Together we will problem solve, learn, and grow in the shared belief that a better future is possible. Learn more at OregonTransportationSummit.org. #OATS2024
Never pay more than $100/month for TriMet by validating your fare with a contactless bank card2/21/2024
Did you know you can use your personal credit or debit card (NFC-enabled) to validate an Adult fare on a Hop reader? The same with your mobile wallet or smartwatch. Skip the ticket vending machine and just tap your phone at the Hop reader. It’s that easy! And now, when you use your contactless bank card, mobile wallet or smartwatch to pay your fare—and ride regularly— you’ll automatically get the main benefit of a Hop Fastpass® card: earning a Month Pass as you ride, with free rides after you reach $100. Construction of TriMet’s A Better Red MAX Extension and Reliability Improvements Project is nearing the end of the line in more ways than one. The final planned disruption for the multi-year project will take place from Saturday, March 16, through Sunday, March 24, along a stretch of the MAX Blue Line in Hillsboro. Shuttle buses will serve closed stations between Orenco Station and Hatfield Government Center. This will allow crews to finish signal work in and around the Fair Complex/Hillsboro Airport MAX Station, what will become the new end of the line for MAX Red Line trains beginning this summer. Read more at TriMet.org Timbers and Thorns fans take note: On match days, it just got easier to get to and from Providence Park. Beginning with the Timbers’ regular season home opener on February 24, and lasting all season long, you can ride TriMet buses and MAX trains to the match using your digital game-day ticket as your fare.
Beginning three hours before kickoff and ending three hours after the match, your ticket to the game doubles as your ticket to ride. Just plan your trip at trimet.org, then once you board, show your digital match-day ticket to the bus operator. If you’re taking MAX, your Timbers or Thorns ticket will be your proof of fare if you’re asked by Customer Safety Supervisors. |
